Peter Franz Photography has finally finished the upgrade to a modern up market photographic studio, located in Lyndoch in the beautiful Barossa Valley. The doors will be open in a couple of weeks.

The studio will be known as the ‘Lyndoch Studio’. The studio will be focused on Family portraiture, couples, individuals, baby, children and pregnancy photography and especially glamour photography. We now have a dedicated shooting room with a variety of back drops and also the ability to create digital backdrops. We will shoot in studio or on location.
It’s been a very busy 3 months at Peter Franz Photography creating the new ‘Lyndoch Studio’, from coming up with a concept, to creating the physical structure. Then of course interior decor, the colour scheme, furnishings it was never ending! And I would like to thank all of my family for there input, especially Sarah who came up with the interior finishes and colour coordination. At the present time we are waiting for the signage to be completed. We have had a promotional photo shoot with my family. This is a small sample The images will be on line shortly, as soon as the critics have finished with them. ( The critics being my 3 daughters and of course my wife )

I had a arranged with Cris and Michelle do do a pre-wedding shot out at their property, to get all of us working together for there fantastic wedding day. I find that doing the pre wedding shot (and its free with all of my packages) it allows the couple to get used to working with a photographer. and what they might expect on there wedding.
To start with the weather was glorious, perfect for running around on a rural property. It took a little while for all of us to relax and to feel comfortable with one another, but once past this stage we enjoyed a great couple of hours trying various pose at different locations on the property. At the same time I tried out different lighting effects so that they may see what I would be trying to achieve on their wedding day. I try and use natural lighting as much as possible, but occasionally it needs a little boost to get the most from the location that we may be using, or create the mood and ambience that I am looking for.

Well last weekend saw the end of the Coastline Exibition and I must say I was pleasantly supprised by the number of people that came to view my works of South Australias’s Coastline. The feed back I received was tremendous especially with the black and white images, in the near future I will be producing more black and whit as I find sutiable subjects. For my Black and Whites I like subjects with strong lines and structure.Under the Jetty brings back memories of my childhood years sitting in the shade with Mum and Dad and my brothers and sister. At peter Franz Photography we produce a variety of fine Art landscape works in colour and B&W.

Well its been a hard few weeks at Peter Franz Photography, proof printing the exhibition then looking for any faults. There are always minor corrections required after seeing the the images in print, it sometimes amazes me what I miss. No it doesn’t amaze me really I get so exited when i’m processing a series of new images, it’s not difficult to over look small details. The coastline exibition is particularly challenging as it will be a total revamp of how I presented my prints. Coastline exhibition will be fresh, exiting and captivating. There will be a total of 15 new images all around 100cm x 50cm.
There is also a series of photos presented to show what I sometimes go through to capture the image. This series of images were taken by my wife who accompanies me on all my major trips.
And also this is the first solo exhibition of my Landscape works. It will most probably take me the rest of the week to finish assembling the images into a fine piece of art work. As you my realise by know that at Peter Franz Photography all the work is done in house.

Fine Art “Giclee Prints ” to archival matting and framing.

Exhibition of the “Coastline” starts on August the 5th and runs through to 28th of September. Opening of exhibition is 7th of August
So come in and have a look, you might like to have a chat about the techniques of how they were created, what need to be done and of course were we found them.
See you soon

Cheers Peter

Finally caught up with the back log of things that needed doing, you know the one’s I’ll do it tomorrow well that tomorrow came in about 2 weeks. So now I have finally got my head around the landscape images for the exhibition. Have down the first sort out and it’s looking pretty good for my Australian landscape shots, from around the South Australian Coast line. May need to get a few more just to round of the selection. At this point in time I have about 10 images that I consider to be worth putting in an exhibition.Sorting through 350 to 400 images takes a bit of time. And you have to be ruthless about what to toss away, sometimes i sit for ages in front of the monitor wondering should I keep it or should I toss it . It is an ongoing struggle do I really like it, will someone else like it, is the colour right. Does it belong in this collection our should I keep it for an other collection. Does it require post production and to what extent. You have to be quiet methodical in how you go about the process other wise it can become quite daunting. Once I get a laptop some of this work will be done when I’m on location when I’m sitting in the tent or camper van. And I suppose this has the added advantage if similar images are required of our great Australian Landscapes our more precisely at this stage, seascapes I am still in the location to do this. Otherwise when you get home wishing that you had more of that great area that you stayed in. Mind you my wife makes sure she captures all the exiting moments of or trip, from me lying prostrate on the ground trying to look through the view finder of my camera ( must get a right angle viewer for the Canon) to me digging us out of a sand dune.

This Exhibition was created along South Australia’s magnificent coastline, starting over on the West coast, near the Dog Fence and slowly working my way back to Adelaide. Then taking in some of the local beaches. It is an ongoning project that will be added to over many months even when the exibition is over, I dont think that any could cover this topic in a life time. Their are so many roads and tracks that lead us to some outstanding locations. It is a fantastic way to experience our wonderful outdoors, that at times we take for granted.

Images in exhibition will be on line from the 5th of august.

Date of exhibition 5th of August to the 28th of September
Official opening Sunday the 7th 0f August.
Time 2 till 5 pm.

Australian landscape Photographer Peter Franz Brunnbauer, I have been out and about this last month, visiting our local beaches. (Local being Adelaide of course) Looking for unique landscape scenes. And we have such a diverse landscape, especially around our coastal areas. And due to our weird summer weather their were quite a few photographers out and about. Had one wild and stormy afternoon photographing surfers at Brighton, with high tide, strong winds it really whipped up the surf. The waves were pounding up against the rocks on the foreshore embankments. Terrific scenes for any photographer to try and capture , especially on sunset. Well another month nearly completed, and I think that I have found some great landscape images around or local beaches. and I’ve finally managed to select a series of images to prepare for entries into APPA. Landscapes and portraits this year Not an easy task, because I think every photo is great. it usually tasks some one else opinion to set me on the right path. Now comes the time consuming job of how can I improve the image and does it need improving. Of course they all need improving I am not that good. So as always I try and come up with a plan of action were to start, that usually takes a bit of time. I quite enjoy the process of creating the image ( love digital), sometimes it can progress quite quickly and other times, it’s a long drawn out process. Theres is the odd occasion where I get so frustrated, that I scrap it leave it for awhile then start again. It’s great that I’ve got a crewcut, otherwise I’de have something to pull out.

And as always the one thing thats great about being a landscape photographer is getting out ther trying to capture it, in all its splendour.

A couple of more days and I’ll have a few samples of the surfers up on the web site .
